I can’t say that I set out one day to make jewellery. Rather, it was a gradual process that began years ago with stringing beads onto string or wire, something I could manage while my kids were young. At some point my interests shifted, and I remember clearly the day when, staring at a simple imperfect silver ring in a shop window it occurred to me that if someone else could make such a beautiful ring that I might be able to as well. Fast forward to now, lots of learning and never enough tools later, I design and create rings, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings at my home studio in Ocean Park, near Vancouver, Canada. Using the ancient techniques of lost wax and sand casting, each piece is first carved in wax and then cast in silver, gold or bronze so that it tells its unique story and I hope reflects the spirit of that ring in the shop window.
